The Strike of Typhoon Basyang

July 16, 2010

Last July 13, Typhoon Basyang struck Metro Manila & brought us lots of destruction that left the trees, posts, wires & rooftops out of place. Classes & Flights were cancelled early at that time. There were some people who died, and more who were missing, especially fishermen. Too bad PAGASA had a poor forecast on Basyang. Last July 12, PAGASA said that Basyang will hit Central Luzon, but on July 13 (the day Basyang arrived), it changed its forecast to hitting Metro Manila to Southern Luzon. Pres. Noynoy Aquino was very angry about it. Don’t blame PAGASA for this. They didn’t mean to do this.

After the storm, Meralco is still bringing back electricity to houses & workplaces. If your workplaces have generators, lucky for you. Well, Typhoon Basyang is a little like Typhoon Ondoy because they bring lots of destruction. We hope that this won’t happen again.

Spain takes World Cup title for the 1st time!

July 12, 2010

This early morning, we watched the FIFA World Cup Finals. It was a great game. It took about an hour to strike a goal, though. Spain won for the first time with a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands. Thanks to Andres Iniesta’s 116th-minute strike at the goal.

All along, Spain won the world cup with 8 wins and 2 losses. Also, it is the only team not to have conceded a goal in its last four games. Spain is the only team that has won the world cup title after losing its opening game. Spain is the first European team to win a World Cup outside its continent.

One of Spain’s biggest wishes had come true. I hope they can keep it up next year!
