The ‘All-new’ Facebook

Last Wednesday, Facebook reveals its new look. The News Feed (Top News & Most Recent) now appears in 1 stream with the Top News featured on top. The Ticker is a scrolling feed of status updates and notifications that enables users to interact in real time. It’s a trimmed down version of the News Feed seen at the right, but it displays updates instantaneously. The Subscribe button gives you the ability to hear from people you’re interested in, even if you’re not friends. The Timeline is the new look in your profile. Mark Tonkelowitz, an engineering manager at Facebook, said in a post on its blog that “it will be easier to keep up with the people in your life no matter how frequently or infrequently you’re on Facebook.”

However, most FB users complained about its changes. The Ticker is considered much of a “Stalk Box”, meaning people can stalk on people’s posts. Because of this, their stories are shared in public. It’s like FB is becoming one of the most important things in their life. Some people had changed their account’s language to English (UK), and it went back to normal. However, it happened for a short time until it changed again. Let’s get used to the ‘All-new’ FB because it’s doing everything to make it easier for us to access.
