What More Could You Ask.fm

Ask.fm

Since the beginning of this year, Ask.fm has grown popular so fast. And this issue, according to TC, happened since mid-last year. It has taken over its Q&A rival Formspring, only in terms of traffic, wherein it got more (37M) unique visitors per month than Formspring (20M).

Ironically, Formspring has more (29.5M) users than Ask.fm (8M),  but nowadays, Ask.fm is gaining more users everyday. And Formspring was born a year earlier than Ask.fm. Ilja Terebin & company formed Ask.fm to clone the idea of Formspring & look for its weaknesses. Wait, I’ve seen no weaknesses in Formspring for it has more applications than Ask.fm, as far as I have observed, notably answering back to the main subject.

This issue reminds me of Facebook‘s popularity growing fast way back 2009, when it had taken over Friendster & Multiply. And unbelievably, the key to its popularity was to acquire some of what Friendster originally owned. With this, Friendser’s popularity waned & ended up getting revamped as a gaming network.

Oh, well. Looks like sooner, Formspring’s popularity will wane because of this. What More Could You Ask.fm? Anyway, competition is like that, out from the old and in to the new.
